Dr. Anshu Bhardwaj

Dr. Bharadwaj is interested in technology and fuel options in India’s electric power, energy, and transportation sectors. His current research includes bio-fuels such as ethanol from cellulose, biomass and coal gasification for producing electricity and synthetic fuels, utility scale solar thermal power, hydrogen and fuel cells. His specializes in computational modeling of energy systems also in using mathematical tools such as Linear/non linear programming, uncertainty analysis and stochastic programming for his research. Dr. Bharadwaj also has extensive administrative experience, having been a part of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) for 15 years before joining CSTEP.


Nandan M. Nilekani

Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Infosys Technologies Ltd.

Nandan Nilekani took over as the Co-Chairman of the Board of Infosys Technologies Limited on June 22, 2007. Previously, he held the office of CEO (since March 2002). He has also served as COO and has been a director on the company’s board since its inception in 1981.

Nandan became one of the youngest entrepreneurs to join 20 global leaders on the prestigious World Economic Forum Foundation Board.

He is listed as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine, 2006. Nandan received the Fortune’s ‘Asia’s Businessmen of the Year 2003’ award and named among the ‘World’s most respected business leaders’ in 2002 and 2003, in a global survey by Financial Times and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2005, Nandan was awarded the prestigious Joseph Schumpeter prize for innovative services in field of economy, economic sciences and politics.

Nandan is the Vice-Chairman of The Conference Board, a member of ASPEN Institute’s Business and Society Advisory Board and serves on the London Business School’s Asia Pacific Regional Advisory Board.

In 2006, Nandan was conferred the Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian honors awarded by the Government of India.



Raghu Cavale

Raghu Cavale is a Sr.Client Partner with the India business unit. Raghu has 22 years of experience spanning Utilities, Manufacturing, Environmental Engineering and General Management. He has lived worked extensively in the US and has a good exposure to Europe and Asia-Pacific. His diverse exposure has led him to appreciate the confluence of various technologies and the impact they have on each other. His geographical exposure has helped him appreciate the socio-political aspects that public policy and governance brings to productivity and technology improvement. His goal is to see how Digital technologies can help India leap-frog into the next stage.


Dr. Rahul Tongia

Dr. Tongia’s work covers issues of infrastructure especially in emerging economies, with a focus on the role of technology choices for improving deployment and penetration. He has focused on the energy and telecom domains. He also deals with broader policy issues such as security, international collaboration (especially US-India), and technology transfer. He was previously Vice-Chair of the UN ICT Task Force Working Group on Enabling Environment (formerly, Low-Cost Connectivity Access). He remains active in advising and working with a number of utilities and multilateral agencies such as the UN and World Bank. He is presently Assoc. Director of TechBridgeWorld, the Carnegie Mellon initiative on human development through technology and partnerships.


Vivek

Vivek is a Senior Principal in the Consulting unit at Infosys and leads Innovation for Energy, Utilities and Services industry. He has worked extensively over the last two decades in the utilities and energy sector driving large, transformational programs. He worked on the 2002 Ministry of Power, India, IT Task Force Report for power distribution in India. He enjoys helping clients devise innovative business-IT strategies and practical plans to realize them. He is based at Bangalore.
